Palm Springs.

April 19, 2011

Sorry for the late posting. Life has been picking up pace the last couple weeks — busy with work, busy with projects, busy with baby. I am a little frazzled & feel like my brain is going into overdrive, but Steven tells me that it’s times when I’m busy like this that I am happiest. Who knew? Sometimes you need someone on the outside looking in to tell you who you really are.

So. No complaining.

Here’s a quickie photo update from our weekender to Palm Springs a couple weeks ago. The weather was pleasantly warm but not hot — perfect for walking around downtown & lounging by the pool. It was definitely a “Steven” type of vacation — lots of relaxing, tanning, napping, eating, etc. We don’t go on too many of these — I am always wanting to go explore different cities, try a billion & one places to eat, hit up all the museums & galleries, and of course, shop. So it was a good change of pace for us. :)

Again I was lazy & did not lug my camera around, so here’s a photo recap via the iPhone:

Me & my monster pillow that I cannot sleep without. I lurve it. And detour at Frostbites Riverside on our way to PS. I was bummed they did not have my fave mint chip. :(

Cheeky’s for breakfast. The line was massive, but it was so worth it (thanks for rec, Angie!).

Lounging at the outdoor bar / waiting area. Cause we had time. And nothing on our agenda.

Our awesome hotel room at the Ace. We loved it. Steven says it may be his favorite hotel he’s ever stayed at.

Favorite hangout of the weekend.
Samurai hair & big belly. This is pretty much what I look like everyday.
More evidence that the Ace is the coolest hotel ever.
Tandem biking in the desert! Which was #1 on our list of things to accomplish, hoorah! It was kind of scary — I couldn’t see anything in front of me except Steven’s back — but very cool & exhilarating nonetheless.
Sitting in every single comfy chair at Design Within Reach Annex. I love furniture stores.
Matchbox Pizza per Joan’s recommendation. SO delicious & the happy hour was awesome.
Took the Aerial Tramway up to the mountaintop without realizing how high up it was. It was dang scary. And cold. But the view was incredible & it felt like we were in a completely different world. A very short part of our trip, but totally made it feel like we did so much more than we actually did.
More sun, more pool. :)
And last but not least, a decaf caramel macchiato. Because I was craving coffee & it was my very first coffee since I got pregnant. And it was delicious. And it made me think of my very favorite Cindy C Su. And how can that be a bad thing? ;)

And that wraps up our weekend in Palm Springs! Till next time :)
